You probably cleanse and remove your makeup every night before you go to sleep, right? I’m ready to hand you a glass of wine because, my friend, you are doing it wrong.
Have you ever asked yourself why your skin isn’t improving? Or how you could improve your skin if you have sensitive skin? You probably relate it to the products you use and think that maybe my cleanser or exfoliator isn’t strong enough. But, in most cases, this is not the problem.
Worrying over your skincare problems won’t solve it
What is the true cost of your beauty routine? Have you ever stopped and thought about how damaging it could be to your skin? You wake up every morning and begin your daily regimen. You wipe your face with a synthetic wipe full of chemicals, then apply another layer of chemical-laden lotion to your newly cleansed face. It doesn’t stop there: you continue this ritual all day long — shower, rinse off with soap or body wash, a fresh coat of lotion. And like most people, you probably aren’t even aware that this is bad for the health and well-being of your skin.
There is no doubt that we love our beauty skincare products. We get regular facials, we exfoliate regularly, we use serums, lotions, and potions to help keep that youthful glow, but do you ever stop and think about the chemicals that you are putting on your skin. Are they really as gentle with your skin as you think?
ARE skincare products really gentle on the skin?
When we think of skincare, it usually involves a one-time application of a product designed for gentle cleansing or moisturizing. However, there are some ingredients in most conventional skincare products that can actually be harmful to the skin over time. Switching your lifestyle to an organic one will completely change the way you treat your skin — and help it stay healthy and beautiful inside and out. Here’s why you should completely rethink what you are using for skincare.
Here’s why you should completely rethink your skincare.
I’m sure you’ve heard about the benefits of switching to all-natural skincare products! But do you know why? You might be wondering, what is causing the increase in dryness, irritation, redness, and breakouts you are seeing in your skin? Perhaps, you have always used the same brand of skincare products, and you are beginning to notice that your skin is starting to feel irritated. Well, you’re not alone. There are many products that claim to be the best on the market, but those changes in your skin could actually mean it is time for a different type of skincare product.
Some ingredients in most conventional skincare products can be harmful to the skin over time.
I’m talking about products that contain chemicals like parabens, sulfates, phthalates, silicones, and other synthetic chemical compounds. Of course, there are also tons of “natural” products containing harmful ingredients in the form of fragrances. There are many highly toxic chemicals in products that we use every day. We aren’t aware of them until we stop using them and see how much better we feel.
I’m here to tell you why organic skincare products are no longer a luxury but an essential.
After all, what have marketers told us for the past 60 years? That we should be spending our money on cars, and shoes, and purses, instead! Ladies— listen up! I’m here to tell you why organic skincare products are no longer a luxury but an essential.
The skin is the body’s first line of defense against infections, and it is made from a collection of structural cells and a protective skin barrier layer that keeps moisture and harmful elements (such as bacteria) away from the body and protects the lower layers of skin. This is a natural and inherited process, but in today’s world filled with chemicals – both inside and outside our environment – many “harmful” elements are being introduced to our body that can break down this protective barrier.
Chemicals are often used in cosmetics such as soap, shampoo, and other skin-care products to; preserve freshness, soften skin, mask the odor, and even promote a glowing look to the skin. However, they can break down your natural protection barrier leaving you vulnerable and exposing your body to more elements of potential harm. The chemicals and preservatives in commercial soaps, shampoos, and other beauty products can cause skin allergies and lead to much bigger health problems like cancer.
But before we go any further, what is an organic product?
I don’t know about you, but when it comes to what I put on my skin, I’m a total hippy! That’s why I mostly use organic products. But before we go any further, what is an organic product exactly? First and foremost, organic products are free from chemicals, toxins, and other nasties that could disrupt your body’s natural functions. Pesticides found in conventional or non-organic foods have been linked to hormone disruption which can cause a number of health conditions ranging from breast cancer to obesity. These chemicals could also increase the risk of infertility, birth defects, and a host of other diseases.
Organic products are better for the environment, your body, and even your bottom line. It just makes sense to use natural organic and non-toxic skincare products if you can afford them. I am personally a fan of organic products for makeup, shampoo, and other products. Not only because it keeps me away from all the chemicals that are used in non-organic products, but also because I feel better about myself. We often forget that what goes on in our body goes into our body as well. The effects of chemicals that seep into the skin are often unknown until we get sick… And then it is too late!
Not all skincare products are created equal.
Here is what you should know not all skincare products are created equal. Many contain unnecessary chemicals that do no good for our bodies and ultimately prove to be toxic when absorbed into the bloodstream. There’s no doubt that the all-natural organic skincare products out there are definitely better for you than most of the natural skincare products you find at your local grocery store.
Your skin is the one thing that is always visible, no matter what. If you want to make sure that your skin is one of the first things people notice about you for all of the right reasons, organic skincare products are a better way to keep our skin soft and youthful than using potentially harmful ingredients.
